Excited about my cake decorating class tonight. We work with marshmallow fondant...tastes a whole lot better than ordinary fondant.

After working in my yard the other day...I think I do have a small patch of poison ivy...I caught it in time! The best scratch I've ever had! Weird.

Had a great weekend with the kids...we ate and played, ate and played...I'm wore slap out!!!

Cupcake Trees

I just love to see what people can do with their imaginations! Isn't this just beautiful. Cupcakes are really starting to be an alternative to the traditional wedding cakes. They are already portion size and it makes it easier on guests to grab their cake and go. Plus its a great centerpiece itself!

Just got word that my cupcakes were auctioned off at $90 for 1 box and $135 for the other at the military event.

Finally!! Just had my last kid goat...hate it when they're born on cold rainy days. It's a girl!! Thank God!

Having an ADD day so far...sometimes keeps me from getting ANYTHING done.

Just dropped of my wedding couples unburnt cupcakes and they were tickeled. Tickeled they weren't burnt=)

Student Discounts for ECU and UNC Wilmington for cupcakes!

Well, I got word back from my sorority girls and they were just tickeled. So due to their input and offerings I've decided to offer both ECU and UNC Wilmington a 15% discount on orders. Here's the email I received from the girls:

Tabitha, I was so excited and pleased when you delivered the cupcakes! I can't thank you enough for your generosity! They were so delicious and were such a hit! The strawberry and crème cupcakes were amazing. The favorites out of them all that people ate the most was the chocolate cupcakes. We were wondering if you did any mini cupcakes or if you would even consider it? We have recruitment and think that little cupcakes in the same flavors would be the perfect bite and are so appealing to the eye! We are giving out your business cards and will be sending you a picture with us and the cupcakes from the event. I will spread the word to the Greeks in the community if they have events they need desserts for. The ladies of Zeta Tau Alpha are more than willing to brag about how good your cupcakes we're and will help with any advertising you need just let us know! I will be talking to my Historian in my sorority and could put a shout out on our website with your information and pictures from our strawberry social. I know that it was easy for me to find your business through the internet but possibly putting an ad in the East Carolinian newspaper on our campus would probably get good feedback from college students who might throw themed parties or Greeks who have big events. We will be getting in touch with you about ordering cupcakes for recruitment in August where we have a much larger budget and many more guests. Thank you so much for your donation and time to make our event better!

Sorority gals order cakes

Well, I have been trying to get in with the sororities in Gville, NC and finally some of the ladies found me on the web. They were having a party and a couple of the fraternities were coming. So, this one little lady was so sweet. They had a budget and wanted to know if we offered any discounts. She said they had $50 to spend and when I asked how many people were coming, she responded at least 40. Well, that would really just buy a dozen, but I didn't tell her that. I told her that I would donate the cupcakes and I would bring her 5 dozen of mixed flavors. She was so excited and thankful and I told her to keep her $50. Okay, next time I'll take the $50...but she was just so thankful.

When I arrived with my delivery van and the girls came out to help bring them in...I don't think they quite new what to expect. To see the looks on their faces was priceless. OMG they're beautiful...was their response. I can't wait to hear how they went over!

Just put on a pea soup...almost like a bisque the way I prepare it...but healthier:-) I use vanilla soy instead.

Excited!!!! I have a great combo of a chocolate espresso cake that has a little chewy edge toppped with an espresso and Baileys Irish Cream buttercream frosting....the little bits of espresso in the frosting are like little crunchies. Looks like you've been eating Oreos. From the moment you bite into the frosting the Baileys envelopes your taste buds and the espresso just pops! Its one of my favs at The Peppered Cupcake.

Delivery on Tuesdays and Fridays

Well, to keep things simple at The Peppered Cupcake, deliveries are on Tuesdays and Fridays. This will simplify things and I will still be able to start the delivery round from Greenville swing back through Kinston on up to New Bern, Jacksoville, Wilmington and Goldsboro and anything in between.

We now have a window wrap on our van, so you will see us coming!

Tarragon too subtle

Well, I am just now able to catch up on my blog and other biz stuff. Looks like Sundays may be my days to catch up on this stuff. I had a great week and even managed to try the Tarragon recipe. Seems the tarragon was too subtle. Even tried it in the frosting. Not very noticable. I would imagine more than 2 packages of tarragon would have to go in to even give a slight flavor.

Trying to get the chocolate and chili recipe together. I have few ideas. My aunt just gave me a great idea of PB & J....ooh, but you would never imagine what the ingredients are...not peanut butter or jelly...you'll have to wait and see...pretty sophisticated!

Tarragon and Chocolate

Been dying to try this one too. Tarragon is similar to anise in flavor. This flavor goes really well with chocolate. My recipe will be laced with fresh chopped tarragon. I'm thinking I will use the chocolate cake from the chocolate revelation.

Recently, I've been wondering what a 7 minute frosting with some tweaks would do for frosting...I just love that stuff on a chocolate layered cake. My boyfriend thought it was plain and ordinary. After hearing him say that...I guess that is similar to the grocery store bought ones. Making it from scratch though...its like fluffernutter. Marshmallowy...mmm. He didn't like it, so I guess I won't use it...Maybe an herb or extract mixed in will change it competely. We'll see;-)

Peaches, Blueberry and Thyme recipe

I am playing with a new concoction...peaches, blueberries and thyme. As you know, The Peppered Cupcake thinks outside of the box when it comes to these tasty morsels. I love to incorporate fresh herbs into everything. Sinking your tastebuds into a cupcake laced with herbs, well that's a horse of a different color. I may get rid of the red velvet...not a favorite of mine, but its a traditional one.

This one will be for the spring...right around the corner!
